As a product designer for many different products from web applications, mobile applications, interactive demos and websites, I have had the opportunity to work at many different companies. This work led to me testing with end-users to make sure that we were building user friendly, intuitive and usable products. I have worked with large project teams (up to 80) to very small startups. In this process, I was able to build and test from idea to post-launch. For the last 10 years, I have been working in human factors with medical devices. This work is very rewarding as I am part of making the devices useful, safe and effective. Part of this work is writing documents for regulatory compliance in the United States (FDA) and internationally (EU MDR).
I am now focused on creating and delivering immersive technologies for training soft skills by practicing with artificial intelligence (AI) characters using virtual reality (VR). The website is https://traininglab.ai. Because VR training requires the individual to physically practice the skills that they are being trained on, end-users learn skills faster and retain them over a longer period of time making it more effective than traditional learning. My goal is to continue learning new methods and technologies to improve as a designer and to help end users experience good design.
